Wireless Medium Access Control

Random medium access control (MAC) mechanisms have been widely used in today's wireless networks, mainly due to their simplicity and distributed nature. We aim at designing new random MAC mechanisms that can overcome various performance bottlenecks of the existing algorithms, and thus have better performances, are robust to network dynamics, converge faster, and require less or no explicit message passing among the wireless nodes.
